Ahmadiyya community
We are part of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Muslims who believe in the Messiah, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (peace be on him) of Qadian who lived from 1835 to 1908. The community was founded in 1889 by him and has been led consistently by divinely appointed leaders. Our current leader is His Holiness, Mirza Masroor Ahmad (may Allah be his Helper), the world’s foremost Muslim leader. From a few hundred, we have grown to millions across countries all over the world. Our community is broken down into auxiliary bodies for older men (Ansarullah), young men (Khudam), boys (Atfal), girls (Nasirats), and ladies (Lajna Imaillah). We all live by our motto; love for all, hatred for none.
Lajna Imaillah Global
Lajna Imaillah (Women Servants of Allah) is the women’s auxiliary organisation of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community for ladies above the age of 15.
Our aims and objectives are:
1. To improve and enhance knowledge while focusing on achieving high morals and spirituality.
2. To serve the community using pre-existing skills such as fundraising for local charities.
3. To focus on the upbringing of children; training and preparing them to spend their lives in accordance with the teachings of Islam.
4. To promote unity and teamwork through patience and forbearance; overlooking one another’s shortcomings.
5. To strive hard in the face of difficulties and challenges with fortitude and bravery.
6. To help the poor in a practical manner.
Lajna Imaillah in Nigeria
In Nigeria, our history dates back to the early days of the Jama’at since its inception the country in 1916. Though the name, “Lajna Imaillah” was not known to the early Ahmadi ladies, they contributed immensely (physically, financially, and spiritually) to the progress of the Jama’at by propagating Islam. The presence and positive contributions of these ladies from the formative stages of the Jama’at is experienced till date.
Despite being active right from 1916 to 1921, we started organising ourselves in 1940 under a different umbrella from Lajna Imaillah, as established by Hazrat Khalifatul Masih IIra. Before 1965, the ladies were being led by prominent sisters referred to as Chairlady, after which during the tenure of Alhaja Aisha Ejide Bamgbala, leaders were referred to as President. During this period, our activities began getting publicised all over the country through the effort of Alhaja Bamgbala and her team.
In 1972, when Maulana Muhammad Ajmal Shahid arrived in Nigeria as the amir and missionary in charge of the Jama’at, he reorganised Lajna Imaillah in line with the international headquarters of the Jama’at. Elections were held and Alhaja Aisha Ejide Bamgbala emerged as the president while Alhaja Wasilat Adedoja Kole was elected as the secretary.
As with all other auxiliary bodies of the Jama’at, we engage in various religious and community improvement activities consistently all through the year. This helps us build ourselves and uplift one another while ensuring we stay on the right path.

Sister Taofeeqah A. Fagbolade (2018 - till date)
Hajia Taofeeqah Aderoju Fagbolade was born in the late sixties to the family of Alhaji Salaudeen Adewale Ahmad (a renowned missionary of the Jama'at in Ibadan) and Hajia Hameedah Adenike Ahmad.
She did her primary, secondary, and tertiary education in Ibadan, Oyo State, her birth place. After getting married to Mr AbdurRahman Fagbolade in 1995, she migrated to Lagos State.
Hajia Taofeeqah Fagbolade, a veteran teacher, started her service to the Jama'at at a young age. She was the first female national secretary of AMSA, the first female AMSA president for Oyo State, and Tabligh secretary during the tenure of Alhaja H K O Sunmonu as Sadr Lajna.
She also served as the assistant general secretary for Alhaja W. A. Kole during her tenure as Sadr while being a member of the editorial board of Siddeeqah Magazine. She was one time the state Tarbiyya secretary for Lagos State with Late Sister Kudirat Afolashade Shittu as state president.
She was appointed the Tajnid secretary and later general secretary when Hajia Raji became Sadr Lajna Nigeria.
Hajia Taofeeqah was also a one-term general secretary for Hajia Bilkis Abdulqodri and later appointed as editor-in-chief for Siddeeqah, a position she held for 8 years. She was also given the position of District Sadr for Lagos State between 2012 and 2018, which she held till the time she became the National Sadr in 2018.
As present Sadr Lajna Imaillah, she represents the female members of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at Nigeria at Humanity First Nigeria in all their activities.
Hajia Taofeeqah Fagbolade is happily married with children.
